Civil War Pledge Drive
Considering our state's spirited rivalry between those who support the University of Oregon and those who favor Oregon State University, it's only natural that Harvest Century organizers would devise a competition between the two camps - one that would benefit Community Vision AND provide prizes sure to elicit a quack from Duck fans and a chainsaw roar from Beaver believers.
Here's how it works: A simple $25 pledge to Community Vision enters you into our "Civil War". Not just Harvest Century riders, but the supporters of riders are encouraged to pledge, too. Those who make a Civil War pledge will have the chance to win one of the following:
The Quack Package (Duck Fans)
- Pair of Tickets to Oregon vs. WSU, October 29th
- "Unofficial" Duck-Themed Nutcase Helmet
- Bottle of Montinore Estate Wine
- Nossa Familia Coffee
The Chainsaw Package (Beaver Fans)
- Pair of Tickets to Oregon State vs. BYU, October 15th
- Official OSU Beavers Nutcase Helmet
- Bottle of Montinore Estate Wine
- Nossa Familia Coffee
You have three ways to enter the fray:
- Create a fundraising page at firstgiving.com and pledge $25. If you pledge more - and we encourage you to do so! - you receive an extra chance to win with every additional 25 bucks. $100 = four chances, etc.
- Pledging an additional $25 while registering for the event through the harvestcentury.org website
- At the registration the morning of the Harvest Century, October 9th.
Morning of the ride each Civil War "pledger" must proclaim their allegiance by placing their tickets in a box marked "DUCKS" or "BEAVERS". Two winners will be chosen during the event. Moreover, all the pledges will be tallied per university to learn if Ducks or Beavers fans gathered more pledges.
