How can I register for the Harvest Century?
You have several choices:
- You can Register Online through September 22. You will need a credit card or debit card to do this.
- You can print and complete the registration form. This should be postmarked by September 20.
- You can register at REI stores.
- Hillsboro REI on Sunday, September 23 from 11am-2pm
- Downtown REI on Wednesday, September 26 from 5:30-7:30pm
Can I start anytime I want?
All riders must depart during the following hours:
75 & 100 miles – 7am-8:30am
45 miles – 8:30am-10:30am
Family route – 2:30pm-3:00pm
How do I switch routes?
No need to contact us. You can change your preferences by logging back into Eventbrite or simply grab the appropriate cue sheet on the morning of the event. You can change your mind at any time.
Will I get lunch on the event?
The 75 & 100-mile riders will receive lunch at about mile 40 and a hot meal at the finish. The main meal for the 45-mile route is the bbq at the finish line. Free family riders must purchase their own meal ticket.
What kind of food do you provide during the ride?
About every 15-20 miles you’ll find a combination of fresh fruit, bagels, hard-boiled eggs, roasted new potatoes, crackers, gorp, chocolate milk, yogurt or cookies. Water and HEED sports drink will be available at each stop. Cups will not be provided. Please bring your own water bottle.
How do you accommodate people with food allergies or sensitivities?
We ask that people with special food considerations come prepared to manage their own fuel needs throughout the day. If you have suggestions of gluten-free, dairy free, vegetarian food choices please send them to info@harvestcentury.org for our consideration.
Can I buy wine at the event?
Yes, the 45, 75, and 100-mile routes stop at Tualatin Estate Vineyards and Montinore Estate Vineyards. You can taste their wine and if you decide to buy something, our volunteers will bring it back to the start for you by 2:30pm. OLCC regulations say you cannot open it until you get home, but both vineyards will be serving wine at the start/finish.
What form of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, check, money orders, or cash. You will need a credit card to register online.
Is there something for my family to do while they wait for me to finish the ride?
Absolutely! We’ll have live music, food, wine-tasting and a beer garden available from 12:30pm-5:30pm at Washington County Fairgrounds. Bike First volunteers will have crafts, face painting and bicycle decorating available. WashCo BTC will offer helmet fitting and information about riding in and around Washington County. They can participate in the free 3-mile family ride (or stroll or walk) at 2:30pm. They need to sign-up online for that or register on-site 1-2pm.
Are there adapted bikes that my child or I can test ride at the event?
Yes.Thanks to Adventure Without Limits, there will be an entire adapted cycling clinic starting at 11am at the Harvest Century finish line. There will be adaptive bikes to test ride on the actual family route at 2:30pm. You can register your child for the clinic at 503.359.2568.
If I’m unable to attend, will my money be refunded?
No, but you may transfer your registration to another rider. At the optional packet pick-up or the morning of the event, simply have them show a volunteer your registration receipt and then they will fill out a paper registration form. We must have the new rider information in the event of an emergency.
I live out of town - do I have to go to the pre-ride packet pick up at REI?
No, the early packet pick-up is a courtesy to our riders and will help keep the check-in lines short on the morning of the event. By getting your bib number early, you can focus your energy on the ride.
Do I need to check-in the morning of the event if I already have my bib?
No, but you are not allowed to start the ride before the course is open.

When do I get my t-shirt?
You can pick-up your t-shirt and jersey at the packet pick-up or the day of the event. T-shirts are free to the first 500 paid registrants, and available first come first served for $15 ($10 child) thereafter.
If I am one of the 1st 500 paid registrants and then can’t make the event, will you mail my shirt?
No, you must be present at packet pick-up or the day of the event to get your shirt.
Is fundraising required?
Yes and no. If you register prior to the event, fundraising is not required. Day-of registrants must come with a minimum of $10 in pledges (or pay $65).
How much of my registration fee is donated to Community Vision?
Your registration fee pays for food, merchandise, liability insurance, facility rentals, toilets, tents, entertainment, advertising, staff and everything else that goes into putting on a multi-faceted event. Every dollar of profit goes to Community Vision programs. Last year, we netted over $40,000.
We are planning to ride a tandem bicycle, do we both need to register for the ride?
Yes, both riders on a tandem bicycle must register.
May I pick up registration materials for other riders?
Yes, as long as you have their registration receipts.
What if I lose my registration receipt?
Not to worry, a list of all registered participants will be on hand at all the registration sites.
Does MAX run extra trains before and after the Harvest Century?
MAX will run as usual on Sunday. No extra trains will run. You are permitted to bring your bicycle on board. The MAX schedule is available on the TriMet Web site.
How long does it take, on average, to complete the bicycle course?
Your finish time will depend on when you start, which ride you choose, how much time you spend looking at the scenery along the way and, of course, your pedaling pace. The first riders usually cross the finish line at about noon. All riders must finish by 5:15pm. The majority of riders finish 2-4pm. Family route riders take about 30 minutes to one hour to complete the 3-mile course.
Is there a gear drop?
No, you need to come prepared to carry all of your belonging with you throughout the day.
May I bring my dog?
No, for the safety of our participants, dogs are not permitted at the event.
Do I have to wear a helmet
An ANSI or SNELL approved helmet is required.
